In short: this website sets no cookies, uses no tracking and loads nothing from other people's servers. The only processing of your data is what any web server technically needs in order to deliver a page – and your own email, if you write to me.
This site is operated from Germany. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and German data protection law apply, wherever you read it from.
1. Controller
Rauch Media, owner Kai-Michael Rauch, Schlegelstraße 24, 10115 Berlin, Germany, phone +49 30 93622540, email kai@kai-rauch.de. No data protection officer has been appointed, because the legal requirements for doing so are not met.
2. Visiting the site (server logs)
When you open a page, your browser necessarily transmits your IP address, the date and time, the address requested, the page you came from (referrer), your browser type and your operating system. These data are processed in the hosting provider's logs in order to deliver the page, secure its operation and detect faults. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure operation). The hosting provider deletes the logs automatically after a short period and does not combine them with other data; I do not analyse them.
Hosting: Mittwald CM Service GmbH & Co. KG, Königsberger Straße 4–6, 32339 Espelkamp, Germany. The servers are located in Germany. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Mittwald.
3. No cookies, no tracking
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, tracking or advertising services. No user profiles are created. That is why there is no cookie banner.
4. Nothing loaded from third-party servers
If you switch between the dark and light view at the top right, your browser remembers that choice in its local storage so that it survives to the next page. That is not a cookie, the value never leaves your device and it contains nothing about you; you can delete it at any time through your browser settings.
Fonts, stylesheets and graphics are served from this site's own server. Nothing is embedded from Google, social networks, map services, booking platforms or advertising networks.
The pages do contain links to external websites: to GetYourGuide for booking (affiliate links, marked as advertising), to the operators' own sites and to the sources named on each page. The other provider's privacy rules only apply once you click such a link. GetYourGuide can tell from a parameter in the link that you came from this site; what GetYourGuide itself processes is set out in GetYourGuide's own privacy policy.
5. Contact by email
If you send me an email, I process what you write in order to answer your enquiry (Art. 6 (1) (b) or (f) GDPR) and delete it once the matter is settled and no statutory retention periods apply.
6. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). To exercise them, write to the address given above.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, for example the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin, datenschutz-berlin.de.
7. Visitors outside the EU
The site is delivered from servers in Germany. Because no tracking, no advertising network and no external content is involved, no transfer of your data to third countries takes place on my side. If you follow a booking link, the data protection terms of that provider apply from that point on.
8. Security
The website is delivered over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).
9. Changes
This statement applies from 20 September 2026. If the site changes – for example by adding an enquiry form with a form service, or visitor statistics – this statement will be updated beforehand.
10. Language
This English text is provided for convenience. In case of doubt, the German version at unterwelt-atlas.de/datenschutz prevails.
